The Same Day Smiles Procedure - with CEREC
This procedure replaces traditional crowns made in a dental laboratory, when an impression of your mouth is taken and a temporary crown is fitted for 2 weeks whilst the crown is made.
The CEREC machine enables us to manufacture a ceramic crown in just one visit. Simply put, you arrive with a defective tooth and leave with it fully restored!
Instead of an impression we use a 3D Digital Camera to record the shape of the prepared tooth. The crown is then made to a high degree of accuracy and fitted straight away!
The flexibility of the system means that crowns (which can be destructive of tooth tissue) can often be avoided,and more elegant ‘inlays’ or ‘onlays’ can be used instead.
This also means that we can work on more than one tooth in one sitting. In actual fact, we can rework the whole set so if you don't like to show your teeth when you smile or are embarrassed by it you can come in and later on that day you leave with a fully restored smile.
